The reverse design features a finely rendered portrait of Samuel Colt, confidently holding his iconic 1851 Colt Navy Revolver, with his engraved signature alongside him. Beside him stands an early gun-manufacturing machine, a nod to his role in pioneering modern arms production. Behind him, a reproduction of Colt’s original U.S. Patent No. 7629, granted on September 10, 1850, captures the revolutionary mechanics of the revolving chamber. The outer border of the coin is styled with interlocked gear motifs, representing the industrial age Colt helped define.

The obverse transports us inside the Colt Armory, Colt’s historic firearms manufacturing complex.
