Theodore Roosevelt's Bull Moose Revolver – The Cowboy President's Sidearm

Spectres continues its Theodore Roosevelt collection—following the highly demanded Hunting Knife and Bowie Knife—with the natural next chapter: his gun.

Roosevelt never went anywhere unarmed. After President McKinley's assassination in 1901, close associates noted that the Colonel always had a large handgun within reach—in his coat pocket, at his side, never far from his hand. He didn't carry guns as accessories. He carried them as philosophy. A man prepared for anything.

Known to historians as the Bull Moose Revolver, this single action was ordered on October 10, 1912—just four days before an assassin’s bullet lodged itself in Roosevelt’s chest during a campaign speech in Milwaukee. He finished the 90-minute speech anyway, revealing his bloodied shirt to the crowd: “It takes more than that to kill a bull moose.”

The revolver shipped to a Philadelphia dealer ten days after the shooting, arriving in Roosevelt’s hands as he recovered—a birthday gift for a man who had just proven he needed one. In 2020, it sold at auction for $1.4 million.

The original featured a silver-plated finish with a carved steer head on the grip. Spectres has faithfully recreated every engraving detail in 2 oz of pure silver. The reverse bears the carved steer head on the grip and Roosevelt’s TR monogram medallion. The obverse features the TR monogram on the grip and the presidential seal as the medallion, details drawn from Roosevelt’s own personal collection. The gold-gilded grips mirror the warmth of the original ivory, unmistakably presidential.

Issued by Samoa in 2027 with a face value of 5 Tala, this 2 oz .999 silver coin measures 80 x 40 mm in antiqued finish with selective gold gilding. Limited to 1,000 pieces, individually serial-numbered, encased in a protective capsule, and presented in our custom display case with numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Speak softly. Carry a big stick. Own the revolver.
