About the Piece
On February 25, 2025, Donald Trump held up a red “TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING” hat in the Oval Office and told reporters the hats had been sent to him by a supporter. “I think we should make some of them,” he said. They did. The slogan became official Trump merchandise, and Trump continued using the phrase publicly when arguing that earlier positions and predictions had been vindicated.
Spectres recreates the hat itself in one troy ounce of .999 silver. The five-word slogan remains the dominant feature across the crown, while the cap’s panel construction and curved visor are carried into the three-dimensional form rather than flattened into a graphic. The American flag appears on one side; 45–47 on the other marks Trump as the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
That transformation is what makes the piece work. A red campaign-style cap — lightweight, wearable and made to broadcast a political message — becomes a solid precious metal object made to be kept. Antiquing gives separation to the lettering and construction without competing with the slogan. The message stays exactly where it belongs: front and centre, only now it is in silver.
